Leicester charged by PL in March for P&S breachFoxes secured promotion from ChampionshipCould face two separate points deductionsWHAT HAPPENED?
Leicester were charged in March by the Premier League for allegedly breaching profit and sustainability rules. While they managed to not get a points deduction during their Championship-winning season in 2023/24, that fate could befall them this term in the English top-flight. Here's why they could be punished twice by the Premier League.

The Sun claims the English Football League has handed over their investigation into Leicester's alleged financial breaches in the Championship to the Premier League – who are 'expected' to charge the Foxes. After delaying getting charged last season, which then led to a transfer ban in the second half of their promotion push, the EFL are forecasting another 'large overspend' for last term in the English second tier. The Sun adds that the Premier League are expected to push for two points deductions as a result.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The charges relate to Leicester's financial loss of £215.3 million ($278.6m) between 2020-23, exceeding the £105m ($135.9m) limit over three years. If they have been caught overspending in the Championship, they may receive a bigger points deduction than the one Everton got hit with last season – with the Toffees having a total of eight points taken off them for overspending in 2021/22 and 2022/23.
