The England international has made a stunning start to life in Germany following his €100 million (£87m/$111m) transfer from Tottenham. A dream debut season away from north London has seen the 30-year-old frontman hit 25 goals through 22 appearances.

Kane was able to settle quickly at Bayern despite having to live away from his wife Kate and their four children – who have only recently joined him in new surroundings. He was, however, well looked after by staff at the Mandarin Oriental, with hotel manager Dominik G. Rainer telling : “He was one of the most down-to-earth guests we've ever had. We only did something special for the children when they were there. We set up tipis in the room for them to play in, for example. They were also allowed exclusive use of the pool on the roof terrace. But Harry hasn't asked for any extravagant wishes for himself. When we prepared a large Allianz Arena made of chocolate for him when he arrived, it went back to the patisserie untouched. That was probably too much sugar for him.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Kane and his family were also given home comforts during their early days in Germany, with Rainer adding on how the Three Lions skipper was afforded special treatment by the hotel’s chef: “The Kanes have not hidden away, on the contrary. They were very open, very approachable. For example, we offered afternoon tea in the lobby with scones and clotted cream, which we had his parents test to see whether they met English requirements. They were very satisfied. Our patisserie chef read English recipes especially for the Kanes in order to get the scones fluffy.”

Bayern are currently enjoying their winter break, with Kane and Co not due to be back in action until playing host to Hoffenheim on January 12 – with their superstar No.9 hoping to hit the ground running again when Bundesliga and Champions League competition resumes.
