Reports on deadline day had suggested Rangers were looking at Burnley striker Matej Vydra, but according to journalist Chris Jack, that move will now not be taking place as the Premier League side failed to sign a replacement.
After hearing about the update on their pursuit of Vydra, Rangers fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the situation, with many expressing their disappointment at missing out on the forward.
A couple of fans brought fellow target Florian Kamberi into the discussion, with one fan in particular admitting that they would have preferred bringing in Vydra instead.
After seeing Jermain Defoe ruled out of action with an injury, Rangers are in desperate need of some attacking cover for Morelos. And bringing in Vydra from Burnley would have offered them that.

But with Kamberi still in their sights, the Ibrox side can still end the window on a positive, and crucially give them enough depth and firepower to help sustain a title challenge.
Meanwhile, Rangers’ swoop for this Vydra alternative is far from certain.
