Indeed, as they previously confirmed, West Ham’s tribute to Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters would be unveiled at the London Stadium before their Europa League home opener against Rapid Wien last night.
As promised, in an official update via Twitter, the club unveiled their statue depiction of the legendary Hammers trio just outside the stadium, and it’s safe to say that many West Ham fans are overjoyed with the gesture.
The tribute, which pays homage to West Ham’s 1965 European Cup Winners’ Cup victory, features Peters, Hurst and Moore standing triumphantly and hoisting the trophy aloft – a sweet reminder of a seminal moment in the club’s history.
